Designing a fresh visual identity and user-centric website to transform the cooling crisis

The Clean Cooling Collaborative (CCC) is tackling one of the most overlooked contributors to the climate crisis: cooling. Air conditioning, refrigeration, and other cooling technologies are responsible for 7–11% of global greenhouse gas emissions and demand is only rising. By 2050, those emissions are expected to double.
CCC’s mission is to transform the cooling sector, reducing greenhouse gas emissions and making efficient, climate-friendly cooling accessible to all. CCC works to place cooling on the global agenda by catalyzing organizations, companies, and governments to bring efficient, climate-friendly cooling policies, financing, and technology solutions to the world.
Building a brand that matches the mission
The new CCC identity had to strike a unique balance: credible yet approachable, technical but urgent. Niftic developed a visual language that blends logic with purpose, anchoring the identity in science while infusing it with a sense of momentum. Clean lines, cooling tones, and thoughtful typography underscore the importance of the issue without overwhelming the user.
Messaging, iconography, and visual hierarchy were crafted to make complex ideas feel digestible and universally relevant. Because cooling is not just a climate issue—it’s a human one.
Designing for global impact
The CCC website was designed to serve a diverse audience: policymakers, scientists, funders, and the general public. To guide users through a wide range of content, progressive disclosure techniques and an intuitive information architecture make exploring the topic feel seamless, not sprawling.
The digital experience unfolds like a story: clearly structured, compellingly visual, and focused on impact. Global heat maps, climate data, and funding opportunities are woven together with strong calls to action, encouraging visitors to learn, engage, and invest in cooling solutions.
CCC now has a platform that not only reflects the urgency of their mission but empowers more people to take part in the solution. With a scalable design system and flexible CMS, their digital presence is ready to grow as a launchpad for global change.
