A brand platform & architecture that meet growing climate change mitigation needs

As climate change mitigation continues to become an inevitable future, ClimateWorks Foundation’s role in this ongoing work is clear: increasing efforts in an even broader set of programs and areas of influence. However, with the growing portfolio of work came brand challenges that needed to be addressed to leverage the organization’s full potential.
While ClimateWorks Foundation had a strong core brand and set guidelines, they needed help creating a larger brand architecture system and expanded guidelines. We implemented and expanded a tiered strategy and design system to allow for flexibility and clarity within each initiative, while still maintaining appropriate levels of connection to the core ClimateWorks Foundation brand.
A new set of expanded guidelines and a brand tier matrix helps assign each new brand to the appropriate tier, and determine which brand building blocks and design language are appropriate for use.
For Tier 2 brands, Niftic created expanded logos that were strategically aligned with the core ClimateWorks Foundation logo mark, creating a visual association between the two. Shared brand elements such as font, color, and logo elements were also used to create a cohesive visual identity across all tiers.
The resulting brand platform and architecture provided a clear and consistent visual identity for the ClimateWorks Foundation, helping to effectively communicate alignment, mission and goals to audiences.
