DPN’s brand ethos is rooted in the mission of empowering more just and inclusive policymaking, leading to a more collaborative and democratic society, a commitment we reflected throughout the visual identity creation.

Our design team crafted a brand that blends inclusiveness, honesty, and openness, making it the go-to resource for comprehensive and intuitively packaged policy. The brand's bold sans-serif typeface and gradient of muted blues, reds, and neutral tones symbolize the merging of different voices and perspectives. The hopeful illustrations and bold visuals oppose the anger and drama of today's political landscape, driving us forward with purpose.

Paired with the new brand, Niftic designed and built a digital platform that will allow Democracy Policy Network to organize and package their policy ideas to distribute to politicians.

At the heart of our digital strategy and platform design is a reverence for intuitive navigation, and a modular design approach that allow for flexibility in content while maintaining consistency and trust. All in all - a holistic approach to a multi-audience platform playing a critical role in facilitating policy expansion, fostering collaboration among networks, and providing resources and tools for policy implementation.

Growing the Network of Collaborators & Experts.

DPN is organized around a shared goal — building and advancing an interstate agenda that deepens democracy. It requires a net of collaborators to advance this policy work. Therefore, we not only needed to make the platform easy for experts to collaborate on creating policy kits for lawmakers to put into action, but grow the overall networks, collaborators, and policy experts. We incorporated strategically placed recruitment call outs throughout the application to effectively generate new members to help grow the movement.

Moreover, the user experience design of the platform is designed to foster collaboration and engagement among users. The different networks that DPN organizes - the Idea Network, Statehouse Network, and Policy Organizer Network - are all designed to encourage users to connect and collaborate.

The policy kits published by Democracy Policy Network are truly comprehensive, providing lawmakers with ample background, policy elements, precedents, additional resources, and the policy bullpen of collaborators involved. This system gives leaders and lawmakers the right amount of detail to enact change and write robust policies without needing to be an expert in the subject matter.
